How To Make Oat Cookies For Babies
To make soft oat cookies for babies, start by blitzing whole oats in a NutriBullet until they reach a fine, flour-like consistency.
This step is crucial as it ensures the cookies will have a tender texture, perfect for little mouths.
Mix the ground oats with the strawberries and cream as a natural sweetener and binder, then add a pinch of cinnamon for flavour if you wanted to.
Shape the mixture into small, flat cookies and bake at a low temperature until they are lightly golden.
This method results in delicious, soft cookies that are gentle and easy for babies to chew.
Are Oats Ok For Babies
Oats are generally a suitable and nutritious option for babies practising baby-led weaning. They provide essential nutrients such as fibre, iron, and vitamins that support a growing child’s development.
When introducing oats, it is important to prepare them in a texture that is manageable for the baby, such as soft, cooked oats or oat porridge without added sugars or salt.
Whole oats can be offered in the form of oatcakes which are like a chewy cookie or pancakes, ensuring they are soft enough to gum.
Always monitor for any allergic reactions when trying a new food and consult with a healthcare professional if there are concerns about specific dietary needs or intolerances.
