What Are The Benefits of Strawberries For Babies
Strawberries offer several benefits for babies who are practising baby-led weaning.
They are rich in vitamin C, which supports the immune system and aids in the absorption of iron from other foods.
Strawberries also contain fibre, promoting healthy digestion and preventing constipation.
It is nice that strawberry Santa’s hat can be used in such a fun way for any holiday party over the festive season which will be a big hit.
Their natural sweetness and soft texture make them an appealing and safe finger food for little ones to explore independently.
Introducing strawberries early can help familiarise babies with a variety of flavours and textures, encouraging a diverse and balanced diet as they grow.
Greek Yogurt For Baby
Greek yogurt is an excellent food choice for babies due to its rich nutritional profile and easy digestibility.
It is packed with protein, which supports healthy growth and development, and contains probiotics that promote good gut health and strengthen the immune system.
Greek yogurt is a valuable source of calcium, essential for building strong bones and teeth.
Its creamy texture makes it ideal for little ones starting on solids, providing a smooth, mild taste that can be easily combined with fruits or vegetables to introduce new flavours.
Greek yogurt is generally lower in sugar compared to other yogurts, making it a healthier option for young children.
Ingredient information
Strawberries - I have used fresh strawberries for the recipe as a bit of fun this Christmas. For baby and all to enjoy over the Christmas/Christmas eve festive season.
Yogurt - I have used a plain full-fat Greek yogurt for the recipe to make the santa white trim on the hats. You could also use whipped cream if you prefer.
Coconut - This ingredient is optional from 6 months old, you can just use the yogurt from 6 months old.
Serving suggestion
This delicious little festive snack can be served on their own, if you did want to serve them with anything I would serve with a strawberry dipping sauce, or a smooth nut butter, such as almond butter or cashew butter (our fave)!
They would be great as healthy festive treats or served alongside a lunch or even as a snack, so versatile and delicious.
Great for home cooks who want to make something special on Christmas day or for a Christmas party with kids, for the everyone to enjoy!
Another great festive recipes: yogurt bark, Christmas cake pancakes or Blueberry lemon star tarts.
Storage instructions
These strawberry Santa hats are a great little healthy treat and such a cute recipe for the time of year, and are perfect served on their own or you could even freeze the little Santas to make a delicious frozen treat!
However if you did want to serve the festive strawberry Santas with anything you could serve with some additional Greek yogurt or a fruit puree or even with some extra fruit such as blackberries or blueberries. A mango pot for dipping or even a chia seed pudding for breakfast.
Other recipes you may like: Berry and oat muffins, Frozen yogurt strawberry oat bars or Yogurt bark.
Equipment used to help with this recipe
Airtight container - I much prefer the click-shut lids on these containers compared to others. They are also dishwasher and freezer safe and BPA free, so very suitable for food use.

Healthy Santa Hats With Strawberries For Christmas
These strawberry Santa hats are a great little recipe for this festive season. They can be made for family parties or for the whole family to enjoy as a festive treat.
Ingredients
Instructions
- Start by washing your strawberries in cold water.
- Using a knife cut off the the green stalk making a flat base for the strawberry to stand up on its own.
- Using a spoon carefully spoon the Greek yogurt around the bottom of the strawberry. This does take a bit of time but it is worth it
- Once that has been done, roll the yogurt in the coconut. I find this easier to do with the coconut spread out on a plate and place on parchment paper.
- Finally add a little dollop of the yogurt on top of the strawberry to finish off the hat.
Notes
You can use a dairy free yogurt for the recipe if you prefer for dairy free and vegan babies.
For nut free babies leave out the coconut.
Hope you and your whole family enjoy this holiday season!
