Egg - I have used free range eggs for this nutritious baby omelette, such a great ingredient for weaning and beyond. They can be made into so many different ways including scrambled eggs or in muffin recipes. The best high quality protein, and the best way to make eggs.
Milk - I have used whole milk for this recipe, but you can use a dairy free alternative such as oat milk or soya milk.
Mozzarella - I have used a grated mozzarella which is a great ingredient for weaning, you can of course use grated medium or mature cheddar cheese.
Olive oil - I have used a little olive oil to fry the omelette in the frying pan. You can use an unsalted butter or dairy free butter if you like.
Serving suggestion
The cheese omelette would be great served with some cucumber batons, quartered tomatoes, green vegetables, sweet potato wedges!
Equally this simple omelette is a great lunch idea that can be served on its own too!

Storage instructions
The great news is that the omelette can be frozen.
All you will need to do to store them in the freezer is grab some airlock freezer bags, or you can stack the strips in between some parchment paper and store in airtight containers for up to 3 months.
A great lunch or breakfast or snack idea that can be pulled from the freezer whenever you need. Just leave in the fridge overnight to defrost.
You can store the spinach and eggs in the fridge for up to 3 days in the same way.
Once defrosted from the freezer you will not be able to refreeze.

Airtight container - I much prefer the click-shut lids on these containers compared to others. They are also dishwasher and freezer safe and BPA free, so very suitable for food use.

Healthy Omelette For Babies and Toddlers With Cheese
This is a super simple egg recipe for baby led weaning suitable from 6 months old. The filling is simply mozzarella cheese. So delicious!
Ingredients
Instructions
- Start by cracking your egg into a small bowl and adding in the whole milk.
- Whisk together the egg and milk using a fork or a small whisk.
- Pour the olive oil into a small frying pan and coat the pan with the olive oil.
- Heat the olive oil on a medium heat and pour in the egg mixture.
- Make sure that the egg has covered the small frying pan.
- Cook the egg for 2-3 minutes and once the time is up flip the egg over on the other side.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over one side of the egg and fold over the other side so that you have a semi-circle shape.
- Cook for a further 3-4 minutes until the cheese has melted on a low heat. You can flip the egg over half way through.
- Leave to cool and cut into strips and serve to baby, The perfect size for a 6 month old baby. Smaller pieces can be introduced from 9 months of age.
Notes
If you are making this egg omelette recipe quite a lot for a tasty lunch you can mix up the regular omelette fillings options you are using such as grated cheddar cheese and shredded chicken or cheddar cheese and grated carrot with fresh herbs such as parsley or chives.
