Fries For Baby
Who doesn’t like baked skin on oven fries?!
It is so easy to grab the frozen french fries from the freezer, but these seasoned French fries recipe are so so simple to make and so much healthier than the fries from the freezer. You all need this good French fry recipe.
First of all there is no added salt to these fries, and while this may not be for everyone, it is so important to keep track how much salt we are giving our little ones.
With this recipe you honestly do not even notice that there is no salt added to them!
The garlic seasons the fries perfectly, added to that they are crispy and fluffy on the inside.
It may sound daunting and a lot of work making your own fries from scratch, but as you can see all you need is a potato, olive oil and garlic granules. So simple yet so delicious.
If you wanted to try and home-make something you will have to give these a try. Simple, yet delicious for home cooks!
Ingredient information
Baked potato - I have used a baked potato for good French fries recipe as I feel they bake better and the size of the potatoes were large which work really well for the fries. You can use other potatoes such as russet potatoes or red potatoes.
Olive oil - I have used olive oil for the crispy fries as you do not need that much and it is better to cook with olive oil than sunflower oil for example. You could also use an avocado oil instead which is a great option.
Garlic granules - I have used garlic granules/garlic powder but you don’t have to use them and just keep this as a 2 ingredient recipe with the potato and olive oil.
Or you can use your own spice blend with mild spices such as smoked paprika, onion powder, black pepper or Italian seasoning.
Serving suggestion
You could serve these homemade fries as a side with so many different mains such as a black bean burger, pork patty or chicken nuggets, homemade fish fingers. They are the side of choice for many kiddies.
You can mix up the seasonings instead of using the garlic such as paprika, sumac or simply mixed herbs in a small bowl to mix. You can see what mild spices you have in the spice cupboard to find the best French fry seasoning.
You could cut the potatoes into wedges to make potato wedges too, the cook time will be longer however.
Such an easy recipe to whip up. For best results make sure the potatoes are dry before mixing the seasoning.

Storage instructions
The simple French fries are better eaten straight away, if you did want to eat them the next day you could.
The homemade French fries once cooled, can be stored in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
If you wanted to reheat the fries, you will only be able to reheat once from the fridge.
I would suggest heating them up in the oven, at 180 degrees, for 10-15 minutes.
Leave to cool before serving to your baby.
To store in the freezer, leave the fries to cool and store in an airtight container or in airtight freezer bags.
They can be kept in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Once the fries have been defrosted they will not be able to be re frozen.
