    Fro Yo Bites For Baby

These fro yo bites are so cute and are great if you have some leftover fruit to use up, using simple ingredients.

I actually did have some leftover cherries to use which is why I have used cherries as the hero fruit in this recipe.

I love cherries and love working with frozen cherries, so not often have the fresh ones in the fridge, so it was fun to create this for these frozen treats recipe.

I think it sometimes hard to find healthy snack recipes for the time of day, and even harder to think of healthy versions!

This is why I love creating healthy snack recipes that are easy to make, that also look appealing to eat!

So many of my recipes contain Greek yogurt, mainly because my son loves it, secondly because it is the best yogurt to give your babies with it’s protein, calcium and low sugar content!

You can absolutely get creative with this recipe and use your kid’s favourite fruit of choice to make them like little cuties!

Below I have listed some flavour combinations.

I hope you enjoy these as much as we do! A perfect snack for all the family!

Flavoured Yogurt or Plain Yogurt For Baby

Plain natural Greek yogurt is a superior choice for babies from six months old compared to flavoured yogurt for several reasons.

Firstly, plain varieties contain no added sugars or artificial sweeteners, which are often found in flavoured options and can contribute to unhealthy eating habits later in life.

Plain Greek yogurt is higher in protein and has a thicker, creamier texture, making it a satisfying and nutritious choice for growing infants.

The lack of unnecessary additives allows parents to introduce their babies to the natural taste of yogurt, providing a solid foundation for developing healthy eating habits.

Plain Greek yogurt can easily be combined with fresh fruits or vegetables, offering a variety of flavours and textures without compromising nutrition. The best way to add nutrition to a dish.

    Ingredient information

Cherries - I have used fresh fruit such as these cherries as I had these in the fridge, you could use a different fruit of choice if you wish such as fresh raspberries.

Greek yogurt - This is great base for this recipe, and it is so tasty frozen and a perfect baby led weaning recipe! Great for easy snacks on got summer days.

Peanut butter - I have used a 100% peanut butter for these yogurt treats, but this recipe works so well with any 100% nut butters, for example, cashew butter, hazelnut butter or almond butter.

Flaxseed - Great for extra omega 3, a little goes a long way too, perfect for these frozen yogurt clusters.

    Serving suggestion

These easy frozen yogurt bites are great served on their own, a great little snack or dessert!

A fun way to serve would be with some quartered fruit on the side with an extra dollop of thick Greek yogurt on top! Perfect to serve on a hot day.

This would be great if you are looking to serve a more substantial snack!

    Storage instructions

The little bites can be kept in the freezer for up to 6 months, store in an airtight container or airlock bags.

They cannot be stored in the fridge otherwise they would melt, but you can leave them out for a few minutes at room temperature to soften if that’s how your little one would prefer to eat them!

Equipment used to help with this recipe

I find that storing the fro yo’s in airlock containers is the easiest way to keep the fro yo’s fresh! I much prefer the click-shut lids on these containers compared to others. They are also dishwasher and freezer safe and BPA free, so very suitable for food use. Airlock bags are great too and a great space saver!
